Do you despair at the increasing levels of environmental degradation, warming ocean temperatures, and wildlife extinctions?
Are you angry about greedy politicians, polluting corporations, and fossil fuel companies destroying the planet for their own profits?
Do you think some environmental campaign messaging is too preachy, too radical, unrealistic, or ineffective?
If so, you can have your say!
I wish to invite you to participate in a survey in support of my research project:
“Deploying Information Warfare Tactics in Support of Environmental Peace: How Art as Activism Can Influence Conservation Action”.
I am conducting this research as part of my PhD by Creative Practice in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of New England.
This research survey aims to identify why certain artworks relating to environmental issues are more effective than others at evoking emotion, communicating narratives, persuading, educating, or generating empathy for their cause. The results of this survey will inform my own research-led creative arts practice.
This voluntary online survey is anonymous and no personal or identifying data will be collected about you. The survey will take approximately 40 minutes to complete. It consists of 12 initial demographic questions, one optional free text question, followed by your review of 20 artworks with six associated questions.
Please allow enough time to complete this survey so that your answers are as qualitative as possible. My research is seeking to identify measures of effectiveness relating to environmental messaging and influence, specifically in the use of art as activism, therefore honest, considered, and detailed responses are highly valuable.
